Once the plant naturally dries on the vine, it is harvested and the outer skin is peeled off to expose the inner fibers, which form the natural loofah sponge. The loofah is then hand seeded, washed and left in the sun to dry naturally after which it is hand fabricated into our whimsical and functional products. Because of the longer and finer textured fibers that resist wear, Loofah-Art^tm products are the softest and most resilient natural kitchen scrubbers on the market!

Humanitarian Impact
Currently, over 10,000 Paraguayan campesinos (farmers) and Indians have been trained and certified to organically grow and process Loofah-Art products. The fabricating facility in Paraguay employs local women who hand-process, sew and detail the products and package them for shipment. Consequently, this is helping to save the land from further deforestation and ecological erosion. A portion of all Loofah-Art sales is donated to OIPIC an organization which contribute to the growing and cultivation loofah in Paraguay.
